Activated Carbon Filters

Standard or Long Life activated carbon filters, original and compatible, for all types and brands of kitchen hoods.

Installed in recirculating filter hoods, activated carbon filters purify the air by trapping odors and fumes, thanks to their porous surface, before releasing it back into the room.

Maintenance of activated carbon filters

To determine the type of maintenance required, it is important to divide carbon filters into two large macro categories:

  • Standard activated carbon filters: they cannot be washed, but must be replaced when saturated (every 6-8 months approximately) so as not to lose their adsorbent capacity and to be able to purify the air drawn in.
  • Long-Life activated carbon filters: Long-Life filters are always activated carbon filters but, unlike standard filters, they have the particularity of being able to be regenerated and, therefore, of being able to last longer (approximately one year). Find out how to regenerate Long Life filters.

How to distinguish them in our shop? If you see the wording LONG LIFE in the name of the product you are viewing a regenerable filter!

How to understand if the filter is saturated and needs to be replaced?

Replacing a saturated filter is essential to keep the filter hood efficient and ensure good air quality in the kitchen. Here are some signs that indicate the need to replace it:

  • Persistent odors: if, despite using the hood, cooking odors remain in the room, it is likely that the filter has exhausted its absorption capacity.
  • Reduction in suction: a hood that struggles to capture cooking vapors may indicate that the filter is too full of impurities.
  • Visible accumulation of grease: if you notice that the filter has changed color or has an excessive accumulation of grease and residue, it is a sign that it is now saturated.
  • Light warning: some hood models are equipped with a light that turns on or flashes when it is time to change the filter.
