While standard activated carbon filters require frequent maintenance, long-life activated carbon filters have much lower maintenance requirements.

Steps to follow

  1. Remove the grease filters: Before you begin, turn off your hood. Gently remove the grease filters from the hood, which are usually visible just above the cooking surface.
  2. Remove the regenerable activated carbon filter: Once the grease filters are removed, locate the regenerable activated carbon filters. They typically cover the compartment where the motor is inserted.
  3. Dishwasher wash: Place the regenerable activated carbon filter in the dishwasher's basket. Make sure it is positioned to be thoroughly exposed to water during the washing cycle. Check the washing temperature and program in the filter's instruction manual. Usually, for proper filter washing in the dishwasher, a washing temperature of 65°C is recommended.
  4. Oven drying: After completing the washing cycle, remove the regenerable activated carbon filter from the dishwasher and place it in an oven to dry. Check the program and temperatures in the filter's instruction manual. Ensure the filter is completely cooled before proceeding. Typically, an oven drying at 100°C for 10 minutes is recommended.
  5. Reposition the filter: Once the regenerable activated carbon filter is completely dry and cooled, reposition it in its original container or support (if separable) and insert it back into the hood.
  6. Reposition the grease filters: Now that you have successfully regenerated and repositioned the activated carbon filter, reattach the grease filters to the hood, ensuring they are well positioned and properly fitted.

When is it time to replace LongLife filters? How long do they last?

    Unfortunately, LongLife activated carbon filters are not eternal. Even after being regenerated multiple times, they must be replaced.

    For normal use, LongLife filters have a maximum lifespan of about 3 years. After that, they need to be replaced with new filters.
